What is Zen? What are you?
That's what Zen practice is about -- finding out what we are.
If you break through the walls of self, then what is left? The world is full of suffering. How can you help?
It shouldn't be hard, but for most of us it is. We think we know what's going on, and that's the problem. Zen practice is an opportunity to just sit, just chant, just bow, just work, to cut through the opinions and desires that sever us from reality, to perceive clearly and directly. We have an opportunity to realize that we really don't know anything.
The Little Rock Sangha is part of the Kwan Um School of Zen (see KwanUmZen.com).The Kwan Um School of Zen was founded by Zen Master Seung Sahn, who died in 2004.
We meet on Tuesday nights from 7:00 until 8:00 at EBS. Our practice incorporates prostrations, chanting, silent sitting meditation, and a short reading. All are welcome!
The Guiding Teacher for the Little Rock Kwan Um Sangha is Zen Master Soeng Hyang (Bobby Rhodes). Click here for more information about her.
