The Ecumenical Buddhist Society of Little Rock is a non-profit organization. Donations are tax deductible.
The Nyingma (ancient) school of Tibetan or Vajrayana Buddhism was founded in the
eighth century by the great enlightened Indian tantric master Padmasambhava, "the
second Buddha," and is the oldest of the four schools of Tibetan Buddhism (Nyingma,
Kagyu, Sakya, and Gelug). Its teachings, transmissions and lineage of enlightened
masters have continued unbroken to this day.
EBS offers the Nyingma teachings that were given to us by our teachers who represent Lama
Tharchin Rinpoche's center, the Vajrayana Foundation. Lama Tharchin Rinpoche came yearly
throughout the 1990's and established the Nyingma practice lineage here but has not been able
to come himself for many years because of his health. Lama Wangmo and Anam Thubten came at
first at his request and now each of them has many students of their own that meet in
regular practice groups.
Nyingma Teachings - Ngondro
EBS offers a regular 10 A.M. Sunday morning practice with primary focus on the Ngondro practices.
Ngondro is a compilation of the essence of many prayers which takes one from the preliminary
practices all the way through the highest practices of this lineage. In this way, one completes
the entire Vajrayana path in one meditation session. On the second Sunday of each month, we offer
an in-depth explanation of the meaning and the "how-to's" of doing the Ngondro practice. Anyone
is welcome to join us or simply sit in meditation and enjoy the chanting.

Nyingma Teachings - Yeshe Tsogyal
Yeshe Tsogyal teachings are given by Lama Yeshe Wangmo. The Yeshe Tsogyal
Practice Group under her
direction meets at 6 P.M. on Mondays in the small meditation room at the center.

Nyingma Teachings - Dharmata
The Tibetan or Vajrayana Buddhist practice of the Dharmata Foundation focuses on the teachings of Anam Thubten Rinpoche. Under his direction we offer his teachings on Saturday mornings at 10:30 am in the small meditation room at EBS. Our practice includes sitting meditation, mantra recitation and we alternate between a book study and listening to Rinpoche's teachings.
