This class, held the first Monday of each month, is an excellent starting place for people with little or no knowledge about Buddhism. One of our members will present some history of Buddhism and talk about the different traditions of practice. Basic meditation technique is also covered. This session is informal and questions are welcomed.
If you plan to attend a session, kindly please let us know by sending an email to Doug Holmes or Cheryl Woodard and be sure to include the number of attendees. Advanced registration is requested, but not required. We look forward to having you!

This series of discussions is for people who want to examine the Buddha’s life and teachings in more detail than a simple overview, and across all the traditions. It is also an opportunity to get to know your fellow travelers on the path. We will read and discuss materials from a range of contemporary Buddhist teachers, initially starting with a text called, The Buddha and His Teachings, which is available in our EBS bookstore. The first four-week session will cover the life of the Buddha and how his life influences Buddhism today.
A team of EBS members will lead the discussions. This is an opportunity to dig a little deeper into what Buddhism might mean for you personally and how you might use the teachings in your own life. Participants will be expected to keep up with the readings. We will send an email with the reading assignments for each week and the zoom link.
Here is a link to the Documents for this class. Please email us if you want to receive our weekly reading assignment emails.

Drop-in Mindfulness Class
Wednesdays 7:00 to 8:00 pm
At EBS (no zoom)
Lead by the EBS Meditation Instructors group, these classes are designed to help people establish and maintain a personal mindfulness meditation practice. You are welcome to come as often as you like, and no advance registration is required.
We teach the most fundamental meditation style that the Buddha taught to his first followers, called Shamatha or "Calm Abiding"- a mindfulness practice of being present and awake by following your breath. The same technique is used by Buddhists and non-Buddhists worldwide. And we also welcome people using other meditation styles who want to discuss their practice with fellow meditators.
Each class begins with a short talk about why we meditate, followed by step-by-step instruction, a brief meditation period, and then discussion.
Mindfulness Meditation Classes are coordinated by Mick Wiggins (mick@mickwiggins.com) and staffed by a team of specially trained EBS teachers.
Classes are free and donations are also accepted.
