Shamatha Meditation & Illusion without Essence

Shamatha meditation belongs to the first turning of the wheel of Dharma. The ultimate culmination of shamatha practice is liberation. Using this practice, the resting mind is developed where the mind is not influenced by any positive or negative notions.  The mind finds a place of equanimity.
